Mountaineer is working to create bulk NGL storage in new caverns to be developed in the Salina bedded salt formation in the Ohio River Valley.  The Project will be a key component of midstream infrastructure in the Utica and Marcellus shale plays.

MNGLS is a Denver, Colorado based privately held energy company formed in 2014 as a special purpose entity in business to develop, own and operate the Mountaineer Storage Project.  MNGLS is owned by its management team and has a project development agreement with private equity sponsor West Street Energy Partners, L.P. (“WSEP”), an investment fund managed by Goldman, Sachs & Co. (www.MNGLS.com).

The Salina salt formation in the Ohio River Valley is located at approximately 6300 to 6700 feet below the surface and is fairly homogenous.  The Salina salt formation has been used for NGL storage in other parts of the US.

The anticipated size for the Project is in excess of 3 million barrels of working NGL storage capacity.  The Project is initially expected to have truck and rail load-out facilities with future design capabilities for pipeline and river barge transport.
